I am your host and chief creative officer, Eric, and this week I am sharing a couple of simple but timeless principles when it comes to growing your business. 

Falling flat on your face from time-to-time is one of those principles.

While it is never fun to experience falling flat on your face when something goes wrong, it is the lessons you learn from going through these situations and how you respond that has so much of an impact on your business. 

I share a couple of recent examples of when I fell flat on my face, the devastation I felt and how I picked up the pieces. 

I also talk about the importance of staying consistent when building your empire through social media. 

Of all the lessons out there, consistency is definitely on my top five list. 

It is so easy for people to start off strong, then something happens and they disappear for a while. This has happened to me multiple times. 

However, the key to achieving success (at least from what I have found, and from what I have seen from others) comes down to consistency. 

One trick that works to remain consistent is to keep your vision in front of you at all times. Stare at your vision or your vision board, and keep reminding yourself that in order to achieve you must be consistent and do the necessary things to help you get there. 

And this isn't just a business principle. This is also a life lesson when it comes to being a better parent, a better spouse, working out, maintaining a healthier lifestyle, etc.
