I had the awesome opportunity to connect with Chantl from a previous podcast guest, Rachel Wynn who was our featured interview all the way back on episode 5 on The Creative Marketing Zone Podcast.
Chantl is a fellow passionate marketer who has a ton of experience when it comes to data and analytics and email marketing, which we are going to dissect today.
Now, as I am sure you know, email is NOT dead! It is very much alive today as it has been for the past twenty plus years. The main difference today, however, is the process to stand out and build a good email list and to nurture that list to produce some amazing results for your business.
And how the heck do you do this when you are NOT active on social media??
I am excited to bring Chantl on the show today as she is going to share with us some ninja tips as I like to say when it comes to email marketing best practices. She is also going to discuss the power of Pinterest and how she drives 80% of her traffic from this highly underutilized social media platform to grow her email list.
Initially, when recording this episode, Chantl was going to share some awesome ninja email marketing secrets, which she did. However, things took an interesting turn when she started talking about social media platforms being used to build and grow an email list.
As you will hear in our conversation today, Chantl is not active on the main social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) these days. However, she is active on Pinterest.
She spends about 30 minutes a week scheduling her content on Pinterest versus the hour a day it would normally take to do an Instagram post, and a few hours over the weekend to schedule Facebook content (which hardly gets seen unless you pay to play).
The time she has saved by posting to Pinterest is time well-spent back into growing and nurturing her email list to build a community and drive sales. Don’t worry, we talk about all of this, along with some awesome tips to leverage when putting together an email marketing sequence for your business.
Also, because I was so highly intrigued about Pinterest, which is not a platform I have been active on, I am going to have Chantl back on for a future episode to share some exclusive ninja secrets to help you grow your business using this platform.
Chantl also has experienced quite the journey to get to where she is today, which I had the opportunity to hear about during our phone conversation a few weeks back. She will open up about her powerful story at the beginning of our show, which is quite emotional and funny at times while looking back.
Now, if this is your first time tuning into the awesomeness of The Creative Marketing Zone Podcast, then welcome – I am super thrilled you are here! And if you are a repeat listener of this awesome show, then I am also super ecstatic that you chose this weekly podcast to help inspire some creative juices with your marketing to grow your business.
Each Tuesday, I release an awesome interview with a marketing guru sharing his or her ninja marketing secrets, and on Friday’s I do a solo episode sharing something new I have learned that works, doesn’t work, or some general creative marketing advice to help you grow your business.
Now, in case you missed last Friday’s solo episode, episode 56, then be sure to tune in to that episode as well – after you listen to this one of course. On that episode, I dissected The Top 5 Lead Magnets in 2018 to start collecting email addresses and growing your email list.
As I talked about on the episode, a good lead magnet is CRUCIAL in today’s landscape when trying to collect data from your target audience. Your target audience is not just going to give up their first name and email address willingly. It is up to you to provide something of value in exchange for their personal data. And this is what a lead magnet is all about.
I shared five creative lead magnets, including my absolute favorite one to leverage in 2018 and beyond.
And today’s episode will take things to the next level from episode 56. Chantl will address more advanced strategies to not just grow your email list but to also begin segmenting and nurturing your lists so you can send out the right info to the right people at the right time. She will also share some of the tools she uses to drive results.
And one last thing before we dive deep into the nitty-gritty of today’s show. I do want to let you know that this episode is brought to you by Leadpages!
Now, you have heard me talk about the power of Leadpages before on multiple episodes now, and it is one of my favorite tools to leverage when trying to grow an email list.
I have done it all before from trying to create my landing pages to capture emails, sales pages to drive sales, webinar registration pages to get registrants, and more. Nothing, I and I mean nothing – unless you choose ClickFunnels – compares to the results you will get from Leadpages, in my personal experience and opinion.
Leadpages has templates already available that are proven to convert, and their drag and drop templates are super easy to edit. What I also love about using Leadpages for my business is that it syncs up with my email CRM platform, including MailChimp, to start sending out those automated emails, which we will be talking more about on today’s show.
I can go on-and-on about Leadpages, but to truly experience the magic for yourself, simply sign up using my affiliate link below:
Now, without further ado, let’s welcome Chantl to the show!
